  • Mindfully and ethically, Mindful Elder Care aims to provide both resource connection and     emotional support to older adults, caregivers, and their families through the practices and services of geriatric care manager, Robert M. Levine, LMSW.

  • According to the Tompkins County Office for the Aging (COFA), individuals aged 60-64 increased by 89% between the years 2000-2010 in Tompkins County. This staggering figure combined with the reality of adult children acting as long-distance caregivers for their aging parents shines the light on the need for professional and affordable services for the older adults in our community and their loved ones. I hope that I can be a resource and help to fill that tremendous void in our healthcare system.

  • Mindful Elder Care is informed by the work of Dr. Bill Thomas, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.

  • Geriatric Care Management (GCM) services are usually not covered by insurance (advocacy is needed in that area!). Considering this sobering reality, I do consider a sliding fee scale when appropriate and possible.

  • Mindful Elder Care is currently focusing on GCM work, but in the near future will also consider creative projects, including fundraisers for elder causes and educational workshops for caregivers and care receivers alike.
