In 2013, Robert Levine, LMSW, founded Mindful Elder Care, which aims to provide resource connection and emotional support to caregivers, care receivers, and their families. Mindful Elder Care is informed by the work of Dr. Bill Thomas, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.

Robert has a breadth of experience across long term care. He was Executive Director of a local memory care facility; Director of Social Work in a skilled nursing facility;  worked in an assisted living facility;  and as an Aging Services Specialist for the Tompkins County Office for the Aging, and so has had the unique opportunity to witness long term care from each and every vantage point.

Robert served as the Vice President on the Board of Directors for Lifelong Senior Center. He also served as a Board Member for the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes (CRCFL) and as the Chair of the Client Services Committee for the CRCFL.  Locally, he has given presentations about caregiving and aging at the Tompkins County Office for the Aging, Cornell University, the Unitarian Church, Lifelong, Guthrie, and Belle Sherman Elementary School.

Robert is currently a school social worker and has also taught writing, English, and Social Work as an Adjunct Instructor at several colleges and universities. In his free time, he enjoys writing poetry, hiking, meditating and listening to classic jazz and classical music. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Robert relocated to Ithaca in 2005.
